When the London based band released this album in May 1985, it topped the album charts in several countries and spent a total of 14 weeks atop the UK albums chart. The album is full of hit singles including one of the most recognisable songs ever made "Money for Nothing".
Wish You Were Here was Floyd's ninth studio album and the second written entirely by Roger Waters and was released in 1973. The album paid tribute to former band member Syd Barrett who at the time was beginning his battle with deteriorating mental health.
Easily the heaviest inclusion in this list, Metallica's third studio album was hailed as a masterpiece on release. The single Master of Puppets is considered by many to be the bands greatest track.
Freddy Mercury and Queen changed all of the rules with A Night at the Opera. The album is a combination of ballads, music hall, dixieland, pop, hard rock and progressive rock all thrown into one. This unique mix led to the perfectly insane track Bohemian Rhapsody, one of the biggest and most popular songs of all time.
The Beatles are one of the biggest groups of all times running the music business for ten years between 1960 - 1970. What is perhaps their greatest album came in 1967. The Beatles had just put an end to almost six years straight on tour and were looking for something new, and this was when Pepper was born. The album revolutionised rock & roll with its unique style.
The second entry from Pink Floyd on our list is The Wall. The album has a massive 26 tracks including two massive singles Comfortably Numb and Another Brick in the Wall, Part 2. It has sold over 24 million copies worldwide and has even been adapted into a feature film of the same name in 1982.
Back in Black is one of the best selling albums in music history, selling over 50 million copies worldwide. The album is the first to feature lead vocalist Brian Johnson following the death of his predecessor Bon Scott who tragically died of alcohol poisoning.
Led Zeppelin could arguably take up all of the spaces on this list having released so many incredible albums. Led Zeppelin: IV stands out for us as their greatest album. A reason for this albums recognition is the track Stairway to Heaven, perhaps the bands biggest and best known single.
Dark Side of the Moon is our number one classic rock album. The third entry from Pink Floyd in this list will give you an insight into our music taste! This album was hailed as a complete success by critics when it was released and proved that by charting for a total of 900 weeks and selling over 45 million copies worldwide. The tracks on the album flow perfectly into one another, exploring the themes of conflict, greed, time, death and mental illness.
I want to thank my colleagues Young Wilks and Big Ade, for their help on this list. Also to Patrick of West London Plumbers and LeBron of London House Makers who both helped as well.
